Close by the largest imperial Roman cathedral in Europe, the courtyard combines the centuries-old history of its surroundings with the modern functionality of a room surrounded by historic walls and towers. With its special exhibitions and unusual subject matter, the Museum offers an attractive and varied setting that you can incorporate into the planning of your social program.
Space and Facilities
The nearly 6,000 square foot covered inner courtyard offers room for about 600 persons. It offers barrier-free entry by elevator and can be furnished in a variety of ways. The glass roof that spans the courtyard at a height of 50 feet, has a surface area of 8,800 square feet and is an architectural highlight. It is distinguished by its transparency and amplifies the effect of the historic atmosphere of the museum structure. In addition, it affords the visitors a bright and friendly atmosphere. The glass roof is supported by two 115-foot long and 10-foot high main girders, which span the space between the east and west wings. In-floor heating, automatic ventilation dampers, and a high-performance ventilation system result in an always comfortable room temperature. Because of its optimized acoustics, the Forum is also well suited for concert performances.
